Biography
The interviewee was born in Bedford on 6 October 1935, and had a sister and two brothers. Her family originated from Tottenham, London, where her father came to work in Bedford at the brickworks. She moved to Stewartby at age 11 and went to the school there where she would perform in theatre productions. She left school in Stewartby aged 15 to work at the statistics department at the laboratory in Stewartby. She then got engaged to her future husband in 1965 and married a year later. She would leave her job when she was expecting her first child. They lived together in Ampthill at a flat, before moving to a townhouse in Bedford. She would go on to have 3 children.
