Biography
Marguerite Radclyffe Hall (1880–1943) was a poet and author, considered one of the most influential lesbian writers of the twentieth century. Her celebrated work Well of Loneliness caused much controversy when it was published in 1928. In adulthood, she often went by the name of John and entered into a same-sex relationship with sculptor Una Troubridge whilst also having affairs with other women.
